In case you haven’t heard, or seen it, there is a new gold dollar coin. It is the center of the controversial removal of “In God We Trust”. When you look at it, and take it at face value, HA, you notice one very significant difference – It does not say “In God We Trust”. Upon further review, I had one and looked at it, you will find it inscribed on the outer edge where the grooves use to be.
Why is this significant?
As I shared at the school that I teach, it is a “frog in a pot.” When you throw a live frog into a pot of boiling water, he will immediately jump out. However if you put a frog into a pot of room-temperature water, he will stay put. What you can do then is gradually turn up the heat until he is fully cooked. Mmm, frog legs!! He will adjust to the water not realizing that he is headed towards his death.
This is a great illustration for what has been happening to America over the last century. Things have been slowly introduced to us so that we may “get comfortable” with it, and as soon as we do, it is pushed a little further. (You can blame political correctness for most of this.)
For those in the pot, they see the coin as collectible. Those of us on the outside see it as an attempt to get America “comfortable” with the idea of seeing currency without “In God We Trust” on it. I know this may sound like a big conspiracy theory, but that is exactly what “the pot” wants you to be thinking. Even if it is not part one of the phasing out of the phrase, won’t it send a message to them to not even think about taking it out if we all refuse to use those coins.
One gentleman blasted me on this point and asked, “If it is or is not on there, what difference does it make?” Oh boy, let me tell you.
This country was founded on certain basic principles. Those principles are found within the covers of the one Holy Bible. We have “In God We Trust” on our currency to help remind us of that fact. As of now, it is one of the last icons in America that we have to remind us of that fact. Prayer and the Ten Commandments have been removed from our schools and courthouses. We have even recently allowed someone to be sworn into the House of Representatives on the Koran.
When this goes we will truly have no foundation left to base any “absolutes” on as a foundation for this country.
Men, stop “doing nothing” allowing evil to succeed. Make a statement that we do recognize that this country was founded on Godly principles; not just with this whole coin mess, but in our everyday lives, in everything we do. If you see something wrong, stop it. Be a strong voice in your community, not a weak one.
