I just got back from spending a wonderful night out with my wife, something we rarely get.
A few weeks ago, her father got married. Chelsey stayed down in Houston for the two weeks that he was on his honeymoon. She and her sister spent nearly every day from morning til night cleaning out the house from all of her mother's, and their, remaining things so that his new bride might feel more welcome in her new home. (Chelsey's mother passed away about three years ago.)
As a thank you, her dad and wife came up for the weekend to watch the kids so that we might go out, on him. He got us a gift card for a movie, gift cards for Olive Garden, and a gift card that allowed us to stay at a bed and breakfast in Irving. We love our kids, but it is so nice to be able to have some quality time alone every now and then; this was the greatest aspect of his gift to us.
