The “Termination” of the Family

When I was younger, I looked forward to church camp during the summer. One big reason was that I was actually part of the “in crowd” at camp. Us guys made sure every year to get the bunks in the back of the dorm and save them for those that had not yet shown up. We were shocked one year when we showed up and had “assigned” bunks. The world was over.

How did this happen?!? Well, apparently a parent went to a board meeting and suggested it. Since no one was there to argue any points against it, it was passed. Yes in hindsight it may be wise in case of an emergency to have an assigned bunk, but you can always let them know what bunk you are in on the first day as well. This was one of my first real experiences with the phrase, “All it takes for evil to succeed, is for good men to do nothing.”

I just read an article sent to me by my wife that stated that Arnold Schwarzenegger has just signed a bill in California banning the terms “mom and dad,” and “husband and wife” from the public school system. It also allows boys to use girls restrooms and locker rooms and vice versa if they so choose.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!

Where is anybody with half a brain or one ounce of morals to stop Ahnuld from passing such depraved and senseless laws? I’ll tell you where. They are hiding from the perception of the media.

Men, it is time to stand up and do something about the depraved minds in leadership. Realize that it is a small percentage of people that are in control pushing their agendas. Be outspoken in your communities and active in government to overcome this false perception pushed on America by the media and do not be swayed by its lies.

Nothing good can come out of this bill passed by Gov. Schwarzenegger. In fact all it will do is continue the downward spiral of society. If this really does hold up, then I will make these bold predictions. Teen crime will skyrocket in California. Teen pregnancy will skyrocket in California. Abortions will skyrocket in California. California will continue to crumble at an astronomically higher rate due to the stress this will put on society.

It is amazing to me how we as a society continue to allow people to disrespect the family in their efforts to tear up one of the most blessed of relationships that God has set up for us on this earth.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires," 2 Tim 4:3 NASB

Or as the Message puts it. "You're going to find that there will be times when people will have no stomach for solid teaching, but will fill up on spiritual junk food - catchy opinions that tickle their fancy. They'll turn their backs on truth and chase mirages."

This only further affirms why we homeschool, and why we continue to ask fellow Christians to do the same.
